When buying the diamonds, you should ask the jeweler for the certificate disclosing fluorescence quality of the gemstone to determine its prices correctly. The certificate indicates if the diamond’s fluorescence is blue, white or yellow and the prices will be fixed accordingly. Fluorescence plays a crucial role in deciding over the pricing of the diamond you are buying. We all know that yellowish diamonds are tagged lower on price charts. This is true also in fluorescence diamonds as well. The gemstones that disclose a strong yellowish fluorescence when put under ultraviolet light are graded as lower in quality and prices are reduced substantially
On the other hands, the diamonds revealing blue fluorescence are accepted as having higher quality as they appear bluish white and match with colorless or near colorless diamonds
However, fluorescence is not noticeable in some diamonds and there is not much adverse impact on their value as such diamonds are brilliant naturally
